Using enriched autologous platelets causes an increase in essential growth factors (including IFG-1, PDGF, VEGF, TGF-beta, bFGF, IGF-1 and PF4,5) which accelerate tissue repair and regeneration at the site of injury.

Use in Osteoarthritis

Studies have shown that platelet-released growth factors enhance the secretion of hyaluronic acid and induce hepatocyte growth factor production by synovial fibroblasts and readily bind to the tyrosine kinase receptors on the surface of stem cells. Once the receptors have been stimulated, a signal is sent to the nucleus of the stem cells leading to cell growth and proliferation.

The release of platelet derived growth factors cause a chemotactic response which initiates the process of migration between the endothelial cells.
